Obama Rally at Penn Saturday, Obama himself missing

Albert Sun

Instead of Obama, we will have Lawrence Lessig. According to a post on his blog this afternoon, and confirmed by the Penn Dems, Lessig is planning on speaking at a rally in Penn’s Huntsman Hall this Saturday.

For those of you who don’t recognize the name, Lawrence Lessig is a Wharton alum and current Stanford law professor, wrote Free Culture, the class of 2010’s reading project book, and gave a speech during the class of 2010’s NSO as well. And now, he’ll be back on campus for a rally for Obama.

Lessig has previously endorsed Obama in video form.

Edit: Contrary to what I originally posted, Obama himself will likely not be on campus. The event is happening, but according to Burdette, it will just be Lessig, not Obama himself.

  1. GO HRC!! Says:

WOW. Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea have all come to campus in the past month. So much for Penndems endorsing obama. They send this lousy fool! HA!

  2. I support HRC Says:

When our 44th president is sworn in this coming January, the United States will have had 43 male presidents over the last 220 years. This year we have two democrats running in our primary election, one man and one woman, and one republican man. Hillary Clinton is an intelligent, tough, strong and resilient woman. She knows the political process, she knows how to work with republicans across the aisle, she knows what needs to be done, and she has proven that she can stay strong under pressure. We have a unique situation where our 44th President of the United States can be a woman, and Hillary Clinton is more than qualified for the job.
