The McCain campaign hit back immediately, saying that Obama’s talk about the economy ignore that he will raise taxes and grow government budgets.

address the inherent risks that his proposals for higher taxes on small
business and hundreds of billions in new spending will put on the
American worker. Barack Obama talked about uniting this country, yet his
record lacks a single instance in which he bucked partisanship to do the
work of the American people. In a time of crisis, Americans need a
President who will put country before party, who has a record of
delivering the change he talks about, and who is a proven leader - not
Barack Obama.”
