How do you get a teenager to devote a decade of his life to becoming a medical professional? With a rapping Groundhog of course!
The Department of Labor has spent $4,157 of your hard-earned dollars (well, probably your parents’) on rodent sensation G-Hog’s latest rap video. The clip was released as part of Health Careers Week and features lyrics like, “The Commonwealth has health careers, but peeps is what we lack. So turn it up, turn it out - health careers ain’t whack.”
To be fair, it seems that the intent of the video was for it be cheesy. However, wouldn’t it be more effective to just list the perks of the jobs and how much they pay to get these teens’ attention? I mean, say a rapping groundhog actually does gets some 15 year old kid interested in medicine. Is that someone you’re going to want operating on you in the future? I’m thinking not.

“Smith Lake Jake ” is from Alabama, and he wears a hat always. He is said to be the 2nd most famous groundhog in the world. you can see a picture of him in his famous hat under–smith lake living.

Punxsutawney Phil, and Smith Lake Jake are the worlds two most famous groundhogs.Smith Lake Jake lives at the Birmingham Zoo. He is to cute!

Smith lake Jake is just too cute, with his little hat on his head. And he has been named the worlds 2nd most famous, next to Punx. Phil.

Smith Lake Jake came to visit our kids school in Missouri. He’s so huge and friendly! All the teachers held him and the Groundhog’s owner kisses him right on his lips. Much different than the personality of Statton Island Chuck (who I saw on Regis and Kelly - not wanting to be touched or held and doing a lot of complaining/groundhog growling). He was wearing his trademark hat. All the kids got pictures taken with him. They said he is not the Birmingham Zoo’s groundhog, but often makes appearances there. He travels all over the US, apparently. Too cute!

I JUST LOVE GROUNDHOGS, AND THEY REALLY DO MAKE GOOD PETS IF YOU GET THEM WHILE THEY ARE BABY’S. I HAD A PET GROUNDHOG WHEN I WAS 7 AND HE LOVED BANANA SANDWICHES. I SAW SMITH LAKE JAKE IN TENNESSEE AT A BUTTER BEAN FESTIVAL, HIS OWNER WAS SINGING TO HIM. HE WAS WEARING A CUTE LITTLE HAT WITH HIS NAME ON IT. WELL HIS OWNER SAID THAT HE LOVED BANANA SANDWICHES, AND THAT WAS FUNNY.
