Nap Time @ Penn

Dan Brickley

All this talk about eastward expansion makes me tired. Really tired.

I may be a member of the Penn Running Club, but that walk all the way from the postal lands to the high-rises will induce heavy eyelids. Chemistry is boring enough; I don’t need any extra incentive to take a nap during the day.

But unless any students plan to live in the Hill-Field-soon-to-be-a-dorm, the soft, fluffy pillows that console so many heavy heads will lie a good 15 minutes away from the new classrooms and labs. This is completely unacceptable.

Penn needs to build a nap room.

Who cares about the Singh Nanotechnology Center or the Roberts Proton Therapy Center? No one, that’s who. Who likes to take naps? Everyone.

Penn needs to build a room with lots of beds. Preferably fluffy beds. With lots of down comforters and feathers. The decor should be calming. I’m thinking baby blue, with lots of clouds painted on the walls.

Then the University should hire a security guard to gently wake up students at the time they request. No more sleeping through the alarms and missing History recitation (although that did have its advantages…).

Also, the sheets should be cleaned often. I don’t know who slept in the bed before me, and I don’t want their crabs.
