If you know it's going to come to 4.01, you could take a penny with you.

Here's how you could have you daily schedule revolve around it to:
Monday: get your 99 cents, which will have 4 pennies as a part of it
Tuesday: use one of the pennies you got on monday
Wednesday: use the second penny
Thursday: use the third
Friday: hopefully you see where this is going. You use your last penny from monday.

This leads me to two other things: first, are all establishments supposed to calculate all "basic" combinations and then rearrange their prices to keep "arrogance" at bay? I'm sure if you told the owner of the establishment how you felt, he'd more than happily charge you a more non-arrogant total, like $5 even? Second, how in the world can you call them "arrogant" for your total coming to 4.01? Personally, I think you're a hypocrite seeing as how your attitude and reasons to going to Bucks is fairly arrogant in its own right.
