FebClub is the last chance for seniors to check out some of Philly’s best offerings before graduation. It’s our Bucket List. Mind you, not everybody attends these events — there are the cool seniors who have better plans and the uncool seniors who have homework. But somewhere in between is a mass of mild-mannered binge drinkers with mediocre GPAs and nothing better to do. We are the FebClubbers.
I don’t mind saying I’ve been a warrior, going to nine of the ten events so far. I might be out of the running for getting my name on a plaque at Smoke’s, but I’m still on course for that Class of ‘08 beer stein.
The Good: Mad River. Guitar Hero on a big screen and $3 well whiskey. Where else would you rather be on a Tuesday night?
The Bad: I didn’t actually need to go inside to know that 12 Lounge is an overpriced, pseudo-sleek drag that seems like it only lures in local alcoholics who’ve lost their licenses/jobs/families and have nowhere to go.
The Ugly: All arcades are ripoffs, but Dave & Busters really outdoes itself. Their system does away with coins and tokens entirely, forcing you to pay for a plastic card that doesn’t work for something like half the machines in the place. It’s also in the middle of nowhere. You know it’s a bad sign when you tell the cabbie the address and he asks you, “How do I get there?”

FebClub has a lot of great attributes.
More FebClub news to come.

Applause goes out to the senior class board. You’ve done a great job moving us like sheep from place to place promising us “specials” once we arrive. Let me ask you: What were the “specials” at Smokes, Fiso, Mad River, Black Sheep Pub, Dave and Buster’s, Roosevelts, Pat’s, Geno’s, or the Italian Market? You’re shepherding around nearly 3,000 students to these different businesses, ever hear of “leverage” in your negotiations? The Dave and Busters event purportedly “ended” at 11 PM–What exactly ended? Did the place close at 11 PM? Of course not–Don’t try to set closing times on events you don’t even host.
Feb club? More like Feb Flub. And next time, order more small shirts.
P.S. Class of 2008 Board - Tiger Woods called, he said he wants his green jacket back.

Couldn’t agree more.
Hope they’re saving all of their budget for that *surprise* event at the end! so far, it sucks.
