Five vodka tonics, please. Hold the vodka.

Lauren Friedman

Eavesdropping on undergrads isn’t a hobby, really, just a by-product of working at Penn.

As a point of fact, half the stories I overhear on campus start or end with some variation of: “I was so drunk.” This is often offered as an excuse or explanation for behavior that is ridiculous, rowdy, embarrassing, or — I’ll grant you this — occasionally hilarious.

But it turns out you can’t blame your especially enthusiastic Soulja Boy routine on Coors Light alone.

In a series of studies in the 1970s and 1980s, students were given — over the course of about an hour — either five icy tonic waters or five vodka tonics, without knowing which was which. The results?

YouTube + UA = YouFail

Dan Brickley

It’s been a while since the UA’s first YouTube debut, when the all-powerful ninja, Jason Karsh, took center stage. Yesterday, the UA was so kind as to send a link to the newest video to each class listserv. Forget rape, crime, and Lee Stetson, it’s time to ’superman that ho’ on YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTube.

Breaking News: Penn Students Learn Popular Dance!

Collin Beck

I don’t know what’s more disturbing: the fact that The Daily Pennsylvanian decided that Penn students learning how to “Crank That” is front page news, or that a camp counselor taught 8 year olds how to dance to the lyrics “super-soak that ho.”

The article goes on to compare the Soulja Boy song to the “Macarena”. I see the similarities. They’re pretty much the same song except “Crank That” has more super-soaking of hos - which quite frankly, I always thought the Macarena had a serious lacking of. Ditto for the electric slide. Too much slide, not enough hos.

Regardless, above are instructions to learn the dance from Soulja Boy himself. To repay him, you should put up your own youtube clip teaching him something - maybe a demo on how to spell “soldier.”
